Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Quality Control:
• Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and maintaining consistent dish presentation.
• Oversee the daily preparation of high-quality dishes, maintaining strict adherence to recipes and portion control.
• Ensure all food safety protocols are followed meticulously.
• Conduct quality checks throughout the cooking process.
• Order and manage kitchen inventory to minimize waste.
Kitchen Leadership and Management:
• Lead by example, motivating, coaching, and developing the skills of kitchen staff.
• Delegate tasks effectively and ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen workflow.
• Handle staff scheduling and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
• Resolve kitchen issues and maintain a high standard of professionalism.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Chef with costing and budgeting for the kitchen.
• Stay informed of current culinary trends and techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• May assist with training new staff members.
• Represent the kitchen in a professional manner when interacting with other departments.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
• Proven experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role.
• Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of cooking techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to find creative solutions.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
• Proficient in knife skills and familiar with various cooking equipment.
• Passion for food and a commitment to providing exceptional culinary experiences.
